Vodafone fined €100,000 for sending unwanted emails.

Vodafone fined by the Spanish Data Protection Regulator for continuing to send emails to someone who had requested the deletion of their data.

In addition, the regulator decided that that the continued sending of communications amounted to an infringement of the GDPR, as consent had not been obtained and there was no legal basis for the processing.

Vodafone said that the continued sending of emails was due to ‘computer error’.
